Gianluca Giorgi is joining the QI wing of the group today, and we finally have to annex other office space outside of KB202.
Jeremie Gillet has joined us as a post-doc, strengthening the atomic entanglement team even further.
Cathal O'Keeffe, Kevin O'Keffee and Ronan Murphy will join us in the next couple of weeks to carry out their final projects. Research on quantum walks, monopoles and cold fermions will receive a boost!
The group is growing, but at least everybody is still excited! (September 2011)
Chandrashekar Madaiah, Ciaran Phelan, Miguel Angel Garcia March and Steve Campbell have recently joined us a post-docs. It is getting really cramped in the office now....
Mark Kennedy has joined our group to carry out a summer projects about ultracold fermions.
Abstract can now be submitted for the Quantum Optics session at this years Photonics Ireland Conference, which will be held in the Grand Hotel Malahide, Dublin, from the 7th -9th September. The deadline is 20th April. (Abstract to other sessions can of course also be submitted now!)

John Goold survived his viva today and his thesis work has earned him the right to wear an old-fashioned gown in some weeks time and receive a fancy piece of paper out of the hand of the President! Congratulations John!
